        Coach Tom Sears begins his 11th year as Hoxie High School’s head football coach as the 2008 season kicks off.  During this time, he has garnered a record of 69-40-1.  

 

Sears is a graduate of Arkansas State University where he played Quarterback from 1990-1993. Prior to college he attended Marion High School lettering in football, basketball, and baseball. His coaching career began at Delaplaine Public School coaching Sr. and Jr. Girls basketball and track from 1995 to 1999.

 

Sears earned his Masters in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. He is the Athletic Director, Dean of Students, Remediation Coordinator, and Transportation Director. He and his wife, Colleen, are the parents of Courtney (13) and Cole (12). Colleen is the LEA Supervisor at Hoxie Public School.

      

     Larry Forrester is beginning his 4th year as the receivers’ coach of the Sr. High Mustangs. He is also the head girls’ basketball coach. Prior to coaching at Hoxie, Forrester was the head girls’ basketball coach at Black Rock High School. He is a graduate of Hoxie High School where he lettered in basketball, baseball, and football.

     Forrester holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Williams Baptist College. He and his wife Ashley are the parents of Cade (5) and Cara (4).

      

 

     Sean Cockrell is entering his 4th year as defensive coordinator and 3rd year as head Jr. high football coach. Before coming to Hoxie, Cockrell served as defensive coordinator and head track coach at Westside High School. Additional coaching experiences include assistant Jr. high football, basketball, and track coach at Wynne High School and China Spring High School located in China Springs, Texas.

    

Cockrell received his BSE from Arkansas State University. While there, he played wide receiver from 1995 to 1999. Prior to college, Cockrell attended Reicher Catholic High School in Waco, Texas playing football, basketball, baseball, and track for 4 years.

    

Cockrell and his wife Holly are the parents of Cade (10) and Lilli (5). Holly is employed by Hoxie Public School and is cheerleading sponsor.

      

Chris Murray enters his 3rd year as the coach of defensive backs for the Sr. High Mustangs and defensive coordinator of the 7th grade and Jr. high teams. Before coming to Hoxie, Murray was the head boys basketball and baseball coach at Delaplaine Public School from 2000-2006. 

     Murray received his B.S.E. from Arkansas State University. His high school alma mater is Delaplaine Public School. He played basketball throughout high school.

     Murray and his wife Andrea are the parents of Olivia (3) and Wyatt (1). Andrea is an English teacher at Pocahontas Public School.

      

Coach Jeremy Parmer enters his first year as the Mustangs Offensive Line coach. Before coming to Hoxie Coach Parmer coached the Offensive Line and Defensive Tackles at Paragould High School from 2004-2009 and was Jr High Girls Head Basketball and Girls and Boys Tennis coach from 2003-2004. Coach Parmer was also an assistant football and head Girls Basketball, Track, and Softball coach at Augusta High school from 2000-2003.

 

            Parmer received his BSE in education from the University of Central Arkansas in the fall of 2000. Coach Parmer is from Oil Trough Arkansas and graduated from Newark, High School where he competed in Basketball and American Legion Baseball. Parmer and his wife Kim, have no children but two wonderful English Bulldogs named Jasper and Gabby.

      

Chris Wagoner has been coach of the defensive line for both the Jr. High and Sr. High football teams for the past year. Prior to coming to Hoxie, he was the head baseball coach at Bradford Public School for five years. He was also the district’s head softball coach. Before pursuing a coaching career, Wagoner was in poultry plant management. He also served in the US Army from 1987-1989.

     Wagoner earned his degree from the University of Arkansas in 1993. He played football at Arkansas State University in 1982 and at University of Central Arkansas (NAIA National Champions) in 1985. He graduated from Westside High School in 1981 where he participated in football (4 years), basketball (3 years), baseball (4 years), and track (3 years).

     Wagoner and his wife Barbara have three children: Cayley 15, Chelsea 16, and Seth 12. Barbara is a nurse at NEA Clinic in Jonesboro.
